SilentDoor Rw® S (Steel) O&M / Conditions

SilentDoor offers a 5- year guarantee that covers latent manufacturing defects.

The duration of the warranty is from the date of delivery (invoice date).

The damages caused by misuse, natural wear, inadequate assembly, lack of maintenance or use of parts or elements not supplied by ”SilentDoor” are not covered by the guarantee and are not the responsibility of the manufacturer, as well as damages caused by transport, water or abnormal environmental causes.

The installation of the doors will be carried out by professionals, avoiding defects derived from a bad installation that would cause loss of guarantee.

Scope of Application

The 5-year SilentDoor Rw® warranty applies to door units in the SilentDoor Rw® S Series, and SilentDoor Rw® Sentinel ranges (excluding TR models)
The warranty covers the mechanical stability of the door unit and seals (excluding the lock and door equipment).

Conditions
The warranty is subject to the following conditions:

• The product is used only for its intended purpose.
• The product has undergone the maintenance indicated on the O&M Page.
• The serial number has not been removed or rendered illegible.

Included in the Warranty
The 5-year SilentDoor Rw® warranty covers all applications, including those with intensive use.
There is no traffic limitation.

Not Covered by the Warranty
The warranty does not cover damages related to:

• Impacts or damage due to abnormal use.
• Damage due to corrosion or exposure to strong winds.
• Damage caused by accidents or incidents, such as objects hitting the door unit.

If the product has been equipped with locks, accessories, or other door equipment not supplied by SilentDoor Rw®, the warranty will be void.

Coverage
The SilentDoor Rw® warranty covers the replacement of defective parts, excluding labor and compensation for additional expenses or loss of revenue related to the replacement of the door unit.

• Only one warranty replacement per door unit is allowed.
• SilentDoor Rw®reserves the right to replace defective parts with components of a slightly different design at the time of the warranty claim

Warranty Covers:

1. The warranty covers the mechanical stability of the door set: frame,leaf, hinges, as well as the wear of the seals
2. The warranty is applicable on exterior and interior doors, with an exclusion to fire proof doors installed outside
3. The warranty is not subject to traffic limitation

The warranty depends on the following conditions:

• Product having been used solely as intended
• Product having benefited from the maintenance indicated in the SilentDoor Steel instruction booklet
• The series number has been removed or made illegible
• Avoid bumps and knocks.
• Avoid humidity - can cause swelling what leads to shape, volume and appearance changes, of steel.
• Avoid excessive moisture on the bottom of the door, frame and architraves with the elements contact ground, because it can cause change in volume, shape and appearance.

Exclusions to Warranty

• The locks and door furniture, including the glazing
• Products damaged due to:

1. Impact or deterioration due to abnormal usage
2. Damage related to corrosion or exposure to strong winds
3. Damage caused by accidents or incidents, particularly objects having collided with the door set

• Any modification to the product subsequent to delivery results in the total loss of the doorsets warranty

Maintenance

Checking the Functionality of Hardware and Seals

Check once or twice a year to ensure that no new object or device is likely to interfere with the proper functioning of the door unit, whether on the surface of the leaf, the frame, or in the leaf's swing space. Perform several functionality tests (opening/closing of the leaf or leaves) and check the proper engagement of the bolts, especially for fire-rated doors.
Annually, verify the proper operation of locks, panic bars, door closers, and all operating mechanisms of the door unit that could affect user safety. Also, check the presence and condition of the seals and intumescent seals on fire-rated doors.

Lubrication of Moving Parts

Lubricate the hinges and lock bolts once a year or more if necessary, using an appropriate silicone grease or oil, in aerosol or pump form (rust removers or strippers are not recommended).
Lubricating the hinges requires removing the leaf.

Replacement of Defective Parts

Systematically replace any worn or damaged parts.

Cleaning of Door Units

In case of dirt, clean lacquered surfaces using a liquid household soap, then rinse with clear water.

Regular Use

Each door unit should be operated at least once a month to prevent potential sticking of moving parts, especially if it is exposed to the elements. A door unit that is not used for an extended period may deteriorate and lose its normal functionality, particularly regarding the lock and hinges.

Coverage:

• The SilentDoor Steel Warranty covers the replacement of defective parts, to the exclusion of labour costs or other expenses incurred or operating costs related to the replacement of the door set
• Warranty replacement can only be claimed once per door set
• SilentDoor reserves the right to replace, when the need arises, defected parts with new parts that may be of a slightly different concept.

BANS

* Do not lean on objects that could damage the door.

* Do not modify the door nor expose it to the elements that can damage it.

* Do not forced the opening mechanisms.

* Do not hang weights on the doors and its ironmongery.

* Do not subject the doors to uncontrolled forces.

* Never wet/ soak the door.

* Never use elements or abrasives products to clean the door.

* Do not use silicone products to clean or protect varnished elements. Silicone impedes possibility of subsequent varnish.

MAINTENANCE BY THE USER

* Every 6 months:

Review the hanging fittings, greasing if it’s necessary.

Clean the hinges.

* Every year:

Grease the bearing of the fittings.

Checking the adjustments of the hidden hinges (if the doors have them).

Verify that the automatic overhead door closer is adjusted in force and closure.

* Every 5 years:

Check the condition of the frames.
